Things to do around Muir Bank

Muir of Ord is a great base from which to explore the Highlands of Scotland, many attractions are just a short drive from Muir Bank or even within walking distance. The location of Muir Bank means public transport can easily be used to visit attractions.

Play some golf….

Muir of Ord golf course is within walking distance. Aigas golf course is less than 20 minutes drive away with amazing views, pay and play, as well as club hire.

See a castle…..

Urquhart castle on the banks of Loch Ness is 30 minutes drive away. This iconic castle can be viewed via the Historic Environment Scotland visitor centre or with a cruise on the waters of Loch Ness with Jacobite Cruises.Further west on the road to Skye is the magnificent Eilean Donan castle. 

See some wildlife…..

Chanonry Point on the Black Isle is a superb spot for seeing seals and dolphins. Glen Affric, less than an hour away has some of the oldest woodlands to be seen in the UK with many walks and parking facilities.

The local distillery, Glen Ord is 2 minutes drive away and has a range of tours and a gift shop. Slightly further away at 45 minutes drive is the famous Glen Morangie distillery, always worth a visit
